Some people waste years, decades, even their entire lives waiting for that extraordinary lightning bolt that will change everything for them. But those whose lives really do change in dramatic ways can almost always trace the change back to something much simpler. One subtle, unsuspecting moment. One episode, one realization, one action. One seemingly insignificant step that put them on a completely different path... and ultimately led them to their dreams.

If you know you want something in your life to change, then all you need is just such a moment. The good news is you don\'t have to wait for it to show up. You can make that magical, transformational moment appear. And you can do it right now - today!

In The Day That Turns Your Life Around, esteemed motivational master Jim Rohn shares the essential elements of a life-changing day with you, and shows you how to consciously create the conditions that make dramatic, lasting personal transformation not merely possible, but inevitable.

In this powerful and compelling program, you will discover the four emotional states that can change your life, and how to generate them within yourself at will, rather than waiting for external circumstances to activate them (something which may never happen).

Once you've put yourself in the ideal emotional state, Jim will show you how to direct that momentum toward the specific circumstances of your life that you want to change. Using the unique and powerful set of tools he provides, you'll be able to target any situation with laser-like focus and begin to transform it instantaneously.

With the wit, wisdom, and down-to-earth insights that have made him famous, Jim covers it all - from how to sail through the coming Social Security crisis, to improving your marriage, to living a life of true style, grace, and professionalism. Wherever you're looking to change, you'll find the tools to make that change happen immediately.

The Day That Turns Your Life Around marks a new direction in the work of Jim Rohn. He has stepped off the stage and into the intimate surroundings of a studio, for a conversational presentation of ideas and strategies he's covering for the first time anywhere!

The result is an amazingly powerful listening experience. You'll feel as if Jim is right in the same room, speaking directly to you in a one-on-one coaching session focused on your unique goals, needs, and challenges.

There's no reason for you to live with lack, unhappiness, or dissatisfaction - no matter how great or small. At any moment, you can choose to transform any circumstance in your life. Drew Carey “Dirty Jokes and Beer - Stories Of The Unrefined"
Hyperion | 2000-03-15 | ISBN: 0786885599 | 240 pages | PDF | 1,6 Mb

The enigmatic star of the hugely popular Drew Carey Show divulges the secrets of his rise to stardom and his life as a standup comedian in the audiobook versionof Dirty Jokes and Beer: Stories of the Unrefined. Despite the title's promise, this isn't just three hours of filth and debauchery--well, not quite. Carey also shares an unexpected admission about being molested as a child, a surprisingly serious and moving moment. This solemnity, however, is a brief respite from almost three hours of bawdy humor--fables of all things dirty and odes to everything politically incorrect. Carey's jokes are nothing new or original, but he doesn't profess them to be. These are characterizations of people he has met throughout his life: grotesque slobs, cheap hookers, and lousy drunks. They're not exactly inspirational characters, but Carey manages to see--and relate--their funny sides. Carey borrows his jokes from barroom culture, leaving them raw and uncensored. Listening to the tape, you can almost smell the stale tobacco and taste the draft beer. Some listeners will delight in Carey's anecdotes about anatomically astonishing penises and his other jokes, while others may feel slightly nauseated. Dirty Jokes and Beer leaves little middle ground; you'll either love it or rip your headphones off in disgust.

Notebooks of the Mind: Explorations of Thinking

Vera John-Steiner “Notebooks of the Mind: Explorations of Thinking"
Oxford University Press, USA | 1996-12-05 | ISBN: 0195108965 | PDF | 288 pages | 11 Mb

How do creative people think? Do great works of the imagination originate in words or in images? Is there a rational explanation for the sudden appearance of geniuses like Mozart or Einstein? Such questions have fascinated people for centuries; only in recent years, however, has cognitive psychology been able to provide some clues to the mysterious process of creativity. In this revised edition of Notebooks of the Mind, Vera John-Steiner combines imaginative insight with scientific precision to produce a startling account of the human mind working at its highest potential. To approach her subject John-Steiner goes directly to the source, assembling the thoughts of "experienced thinkers"--artists, philosophers, writers, and scientists able to reflect on their own imaginative patterns. More than fifty interviews (with figures ranging from Jessica Mitford to Aaron Copland), along with excerpts from the diaries, letters, and autobiographies of such gifted giants as Leo Tolstoy, Marie Curie, and Diego Rivera, among others, provide illuminating insights into creative activity. We read, for example, of Darwin's preoccupation with the image of nature as a branched tree while working on his concept of evolution. Mozart testifies to the vital influence on his mature art of the wondrous "bag of memories" he retained from childhood. Anais Nin describes her sense of words as oppressive, explaining how imagistic free association freed her as a writer. Adding these personal accounts to laboratory studies of thought process, John-Steiner takes a refreshingly holistic approach to the question of creativity. What emerges is an intriguing demonstration of how specific sociocultural circumstances interact with certain personality traits to encourage the creative mind. Among the topics examined here are the importance of childhood mentor figures; the lengthy apprenticeship of the talented person; and the development of self- expression through highly individualistic languages, whether in images, movement or inner speech. Now, with a new introduction, this award-winning book provides an uniquely broad-based study of the origins, development and fruits of human inspiration.
